Decorative Rod Mounted Valances

Our Decorative Rod mounted window treatments in this department are recommended for outside mount only.
Outside Mount
To measure for an outside mount, first measure the width from outside edge to outside edge of the casing. Then add a minimum of 4" to the width so the treatment extends past the window casing creating wall space for the brackets. If drapes are going to be used with this top treatment, you need to add a minimum of 10” to the width to accommodate for the drape hardware which is typically mounted 4” out from the casing on each side.

Inside Mount
We do not recommend that you inside mount valances installed on decorative rods. The brackets and finials are meant for outside mounting.

| Installing Decorative Rod Mounted Valances |

Installing a decorative rod top treatment is very easy, even for people that don't consider themselves handy. The hardware brackets attach to the wall using screws and if necessary dry wall anchors that can be purchased from any hardware store. Make sure you go out at least 2" on each side. First attach the brackets to the wall. Then slide the valance rings over the rod and set it down in the brackets and tighten the thumb screws. That's it.
