There are just a few simple steps to your headboard assembly
Your headboard legs are covered in fabric and are shipped unattached. The extesions you see in the photo slide into the slots on your headboard. |
Remove your headboard from the carton and set it roughly in its final position against the wall. |
Position your headboard flat on the floor with the slots on the bottom facing away from the wall. Insert the legs into the slots. |
Stand the headboard upright against the wall. Gravity will keep the legs in place. |
Move the bed frame so it is touching the headboard legs. Using a ruler, center the frame on the two legs. Using a pencil, mark the position of the frame's bolt holes on the legs. |
Remove the legs and using a 1/4" drill bit, drill 4 holes in the legs where they were marked.
Option: if you have a very plush mattress set and want to install your headboard higher than frame mounting will allow, then wall mounting is a good option. Use toggle bolts to securely fasten the headboard to the wall. |
For frame installation, you will need to purchase (4) 1/4" x 1-1/4" nuts & bolts sets from your local hardware store. The thickness of the leg is 1" and the 1-1/4" should work with most bed frames. |
