What are we hearing from our Customers?
There is so much in the media right now about high gas prices and a terrible housing market. Naturally, you would think people would be pulling back. There is clear evidence that certain segments of the economy are suffering. Despite the real estate problems and gas prices, we continue to see strength in home decorating, particularly Internet shopping. Our customers tell us that they have decided to forgo an expensive trip to Europe and put the money into new Window Treatments. Driving vacations are now expensive and we hear customers would rather use the money to decorate their homes.
People are also spending more time at home and having family gatherings and want their homes to look nice! Our customers are shocked by prices from decorators so they are turning to us now more than ever before. In a hot real estate market, customers find it easier to rationalize high prices. In a slow market, they want to get the most for their money even if it requires a little more effort on their part. Shopping with us gives them the value they are looking for.
We have always seen decorating as an investment, but now more and more customers understand how important this is. A well decorated home is more enjoyable while you live in it and will get you a higher selling price when you are ready to put it on the market!
