Fabric Cord on window treatments

Monday, August 16th, 2010

A fabric cord is a decorative finishing accent used on many custom fabric products. Using a fabric cord on window treatments gives it a finished more custom look.  In most cases, it can be a standard feature of the product or added as an upgrade.  The cord can range from 1/4″ to 1″ in diameter, which will vary from product to product.

The workroom can make the cord in the same fabric as the product itself or in a contrast fabric, which will give your finished product a very custom look.

Extension

Monday, August 16th, 2010

Generally we don’t recommend mounting a window treatment directly on the window casing. We think it looks best if the treatment extends approximately 2″ beyond the casing on each side.  If you are adding drapes to your top treatment, your extension will need to be several inches on each side.

Drape Banding

Monday, August 9th, 2010

A 2″ Edge Accent Banding placed 1-1/2″ in from the leading edge is an option on Full Custom Draperies.  All standard non-sheer fabrics may be banded or used as Drape banding. This is a very nice look and will make your custom drapes even more custom looking and unique.

Drape Fullness

Monday, August 9th, 2010

Fullness is how much a window treatment is gathered on a rod.  As a rule of thumb, 2 to 1 fullness is the most common.  This simply means that to make a window treatment that covers 50″ of window, you would need 100″ of fabric.  At 3 to 1 fullness, you would need 150″ and 1.5 to 1 you would need 75″ of fabric.

At Home Brands is expanding into the growing on-line photo framing market with its website SnapArtwork.com. Prior to this expansion, At Home Brands has served the growing do-it-yourself home decorating market for nearly ten years through its FabricWorkroom.com and AtHomeAccents.com websites.

Customers of SnapArtwork.com easily upload their photo images and select from an exclusive collection of 9 trendy photo frames. Customers can also choose to have a Snap Artwork photo expert alter their photo based on a wide variety of special effects available on the site.

This can all be done on-line saving time and money! The framing options start at $69 for a unique Canvas Wrap Frame. A customer’s framed photo artwork comes ready to hang right out of the box. Snap Artwork’s frame selection, special effects, speed, convenience and price would be difficult for local frame store to match.

“We are all very thrilled to launch our new home décor website. This expansion fits well with our home decorating core business. Our customers are in the process of decorating their homes and now they can include personalize framed photos as part of their decorating plan” said Elise Thomas of At Home Brands, Inc.

“The explosive growth of on-line photo sharing communities such as Facebook and the huge array of new megapixel smart phones are creating a massive number of fantastic photos stored on hard drives. Most never go anywhere because of the hassle of printing and framing them. SnapArtwork.com makes it very simple for consumers to get those photos out of storage and on to their walls with just a few clicks of their mouse. We will also retouch a customer’s image to make it perfect including cropping, wrinkle removal and everything in between. We do all the work, customers don’t have to waste their time learning photo retouching software,” stated Thomas.

“I shoot photos professionally and love the products and services of Snapartwork.com. Rather than taking the photos and giving my clients their images on a disk, I can offer them a full service approach and present a beautifully framed finished product. Mounting my photography on a Snap Artwork frame creates a real wow factor”, said Tim Van Asselt a professional photographer.

“I also like the choice of frames they have in their product line. The range includes their trendy Acrylic Photo Frame to Canvas Wraps to their classic metal and wood photo frames. I especially like all the frameless photo frame options. They make a very bold statement,” stated Van Asselt.
