customers think

Dear Fabric Workroom, I got the drapes you made for me installed. I couldnt be more pleased. Its always a little worrying to order something like this over the internet. But, they are perfect. Thank you for making life easier for this old bachelor with peculiar old fashioned tastes... Laurence W. (Salt Lake City, UT)

Wood Blind Motorization

Monday, September 13th, 2010

The tilt function on a Wood Blind can be motorized.  You can remotely open and close the slats at the touch of a button.  This feature is particularly useful for blinds located in very hard to reach locations such behind sofas.  Motorization will not raise and lower a shade – it is for slat tilting only.

Wood Blind Fabric Tape

Monday, September 13th, 2010

Fabric Tape is a beautiful upgrade to a wood blind.  The tape replaces the string ladders that come with a standard blind. You can select a color to highlight a specific color in the room.

Wide Edge Banding

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Wide Edge Banding is available for your bamboo shade.  You can also have your 6″ valance made in the same fabric to match the edging.

Vertical Banding

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Features:

  • 2″ wide fabric banding is set in 2″ for each side of the shade
  • Banding is double folded to avoid color see through from the main shade fabric

Top Down Bottom Up

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

Many Roman Shades can be made with Top Down Bottom Up operation.  The shade will operate as a standard shade (top down) and from the bottom up.

Features:

  • Two cords (1 left – 1 right) operate this feature
  • Outside Mount Only
  • The headrail for TD/BU is 2-1/2″ deep
  • Headrail comes with a 4″ valance to cover the cords and cord locks on the headrail

Tilt Wand or Cord

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

The matching tilt wand open and closes the slats.  You have the option to replace the tilt wand with string cords. The choice is a personal preference.  If you decide to order tilt cords, we do not recommend placing the lift cord and the tilt cord on the same side of the blind.  Cord tangling may become an issue in daily use.

Standard Roll

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

In the Standard Roll position the fabric rolls off the back of the shade. In other words, the fabric is running down the window close to the glass.<p>

Standard Honeycomb Side Mount Bracket

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Ideal for windows below transoms and arches. Alternative mounting method when no frame is available above the window for mounting. Use only if shade dimensions fall within the following:

  • Minimum Blind Width 6″
  • Maximum Blind Width 48″
  • Minimum Blind Height 6″
  • Maximum Blind Height 72″

Sheer Aluminum Headrail

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

  • Inside Mount – Minimum depth for flush inside mount 3-1/4″
  • Shallow Mount – Minimum depth for flush inside mount 3/4″
  • Side Mount – Minimum depth for flush inside mount 1-1/4″, Maximum width for side mount 42″
  • Side Mount – Surface area required for outside mount 3/4″

Routless Slats

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

On a standard blind, small holes in each slat are part of the manufacturing process to accommodate the lifting and tilting ladders.  If you need a higher level of light control and/or privacy, then you should upgrade to Routless Slats. The slats and ladders are manufactured differently to eliminate the small holes.

  • Routless Slats cannot be ordered if you decide to add Fabric Tape
